This album is a collection of collaborative beats made by students in the Today's Future Sound music production/beatmaking class at King Middle School in Berkeley (King Visionaries of Berkeley Learns). Dr. Elliot Gann and Phillipdrummond facilitated the recorded portion of the class (including bringing in guest producers to work with students), while Ben Durazzo aka B.Durazzo taught live beat performance on the MPC.
Guest producers who worked directly with the youth co-producing the tracks included Ion the Prize, BOAC, Chex Mex, Scandal, Science and D-Wiz. Amy Whoa headed up art direction and graphic design in a collaborative effort with the student producers. Thanks to John Alford-Leaks at King Visionaries who made this class possible!
Today's Future Sound is a non-profit organization that teaches music production and performance in schools and community settings to youth (and any other aged populations who are interested!). You can choose to pay $0.00 and download this album for free, but if you choose to pay for it, all funds will go to Today's Future Sound and further programming and community workshops and events. We also teach private lessons.
